    Description:

Branford is a long-term, control investor in small to medium sized 'old economy' businesses. With each new investment, Branford builds on its senior management's 35-year history of buying and growing businesses, which now spans over 150 control investments and represents many billions of dollars in transaction value. Branford itself was founded in 1986 and is currently managing a substantial number of portfolio companies. Branford has over $200MM in equity available for investment, as well as an extensive array of senior and mezzanine lender relationships. New Branford platform investments typically fall in the $10-40MM enterprise value range. Branford Castle is looking for businesses that have a leadership position in a definable market niche, a proprietary competitive advantage, and a top-rate management team committed to growth. Traditionally, Bradford Castle makes control and non-control investments in companies with up to $75MM in total enterprise value. Areas of specific interest include manufacturing, commercial distribution, service businesses, consumer products and services, specialty publishing, restaurants, and infrastructure. Branford Castle will not take part in turnaround, bankrupt or distressed situations. The focus is on working with already strong companies that typically have under $100MM in sales.
