    Description:

    The Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing quality early-stage investment opportunities for accredited Central Texas Angel investors, and to assisting, educating and connecting early-stage growth companies in Central Texas with information and advisors for the purpose of raising money and assisting in their growth. A byproduct of the group's mission will be economic development for Central Texas and the state by helping emerging companies grow to profitability and/or grow to Venture Capital scale investments. Having invested $124 million in 202 companies since 2006, Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN) is one of the largest and most active angel groups in North America and a significant source of early-stage capital to entrepreneurs from Texas and beyond. Members of the group must possess a willingness to make investments in the $25,000 or greater range. The group provided $8 million in funding to 25 early-stage companies in 2012. A nonprofit, member-based organization, the angel network features 185 individual accredited investors from an extensive cross-section of sectors and backgrounds For deals to be considered by the Central Texas Angel Network, they must be based in Texas, have a completed product/service offering, have pre-money valuation no greater than $10 million, and be seeking no more than $2 million in funding. Applications are screened by members, with two companies chosen each month to present to membership.
