Founded in 1999, Comcast Ventures is a $500+ million venture capital fund affiliated with Comcast Corporation, a diversified global leader in broadband services, telecommunications, electronic commerce, and entertainment. Comcast Ventures invests in companies focused on advertising, consumer, enterprise, and infrastructure. Comcast Ventures will consider investing in promising businesses at any stage of development, from seed through late stage. Initial investments typically range in size from $2 million to $15 million with appropriate follow-on financing in later private rounds. Under the Comcast Ventures umbrella, the firm has established the Opportunity Fund, which invests in the businesses of minority entrepreneurs. The Opportunity Fund's first investment was DreamIt Ventures, an accelerator program. Comcast Ventures also partners with Gil Beyda on seed fund opportunities via Genacast Ventures. Comcast Ventures has over 120 portfolio companies.
