    Description:

The Detroit Investment Fund is a $52 million private capital fund created by Detroit Renaissance that invests in projects that have the potential to stimulate economic development within the city of Detroit while generating a return for the Fund's investors. By financing commercial and industrial businesses, residential real estate development and special projects which address the strategic needs of the city, the Fund acts as a catalyst for investment in Detroit. This is accomplished by providing low-cost, mezzanine financing which will leverage owner equity so that the contemplated transaction will merit traditional financing. The fund will invest $500,000 to $2.5 million in a broad range of industries with a focus on manufacturing, distribution, and service companies and in the following types of projects: Residential and Community Development; Commercial and Industrial Expansion; or Relocation and Strategic Developments. The Detroit Investment Fund will also assist with Residential and Community Development Capital Loans and Commercial Capital Loans.
