Founders Capital Partners (FCP) is a group of some 40 individual 'angel' investors that include active and retired entrepreneurs, executives, industrial and academic scientists and engineers. The size of Founders' investments historically has ranged from a low of $100,000 to a high of $42 million. The group's 'sweet spot' is $250,000-$750,000. Primary areas of interest include using (1) software, the Internet, mobile technologies and domain expertise to provide business and healthcare services, and (2) sensor, electronic and mechanical technologies applied to life sciences, imaging, monitoring, and similar industrial applications. The focus is industrial products and services and the group does not invest in consumer or fashion businesses. Since 1999, investment activity has been focused principally on the Central Coast of California.
