Kubera Partners is a private equity firm that invests in cross-border companies, defined as Western headquartered companies that seek to leverage India and Asia based resources for lower cost and greater availability of talent, and companies headquartered in India and Asia that seek to expand in Western markets through acquisition or sales force development. The firm's capital comes from the Kubera Cross-Border Fund, a closed-end private equity fund listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM), which gives Kubera and its portfolio companies the long-term orientation of permanent capital. Kubera invests between $20 million and $70 million per investment but can make significantly larger investments where appropriate. Kubera made nine investments since launch and is fully invested. Eight of the firm's investments are in companies that are domiciled in India. Two investments were realized in 2010.
