New Ground Ventures invests in seed and later stage venture opportunities, with a focus on technology, financial services, food, health and wellness and education. According to SEC filings, New Ground raised $6.3 million for its first investment fund in April of 2014, with plans to raise a total of $15 million in the offering. Founder, Zac Zeitlin, was previously a co-founder and head of the Principal Finance business of Silver Point Capital, as well as one of the firm's six partners. New Ground has been one of the most active early stage investors of the past decade, with 145 companies funded since 2011.
