    Description:

    Formed in 2003, River Valley Investors is a Western Massachusetts-based group of individual investors seeking investment opportunities in both early stage companies with significant growth potential as well as later stage companies. River Valley Investors meets monthly in Springfield, MA and two business plans are reviewed at each meeting. Businesses are expected to present their case in a presentation lasting no more than 10 minutes. River Valley Investors may invest as individuals, collectively as a purpose-made partnership or corporation, or through an existing investment vehicle. River Valley Investors is centered around Springfield and will consider funding companies within a 1-2 hour drive of their location. Prospective companies should ideally be seeking $50K to $2 million in the current round, and no more than $20 million of follow-on funding to reach exit. RVI's ideal investment size is $500,000-$1M. The group's preferred industries include: Business products and services, Financial services, Healthcare services, Industrial/ energy, and Medical devices and equipment. Management services are provided by the Angel Catalyst team.
