Scaleworks is a Venture Equity provider that acquires, invests in, advises, and operates B2B SaaS companies. Scaleworks coined the term Venture Equity and manages a $60 million fund (Scaleworks Fund I) to invest on the venture equity thesis. Venture Equity sits at the intersection of venture capital and private equity, investing in businesses that the fund believes have significant growth (50-100% per year) opportunities given strategic direction and go to market focus and funding. The firm announced (February 2019) the closing of its second flagship fund, Scaleworks Fund II with $80M in capital commitments. In addition to its venture equity fund, the firm formed a debt fund in 2018 which provides alternative funding for B2B and SAAS companies. Scaleworks acquires B2B SaaS products, but need support in efforts to scale from around $0-5M in size to $5-20M and beyond.
