    Description:

    Founded in 1997, Skyline Ventures specializes in hands-on investing in early stage healthcare companies. The firm's initial investment is usually made at the time of a company's first venture round. In October 2007, Skyline completed raising Skyline V, which has $350 million in committed capital. The firm in aggregate has approximately $800 million under management. Skyline Ventures targets investments of $15-35 million per portfolio investment over the life of the company. The firm focuses in all sectors of the healthcare market, including biotechnology, therapeutics, medical devices, consumables and equipment for life sciences research, and healthcare information technology. Historically, a majority of the firm's portfolio companies have been in the San Francisco Bay Area. However, Skyline has also made investments throughout the United States, including the traditional investment centers of Boston and San Diego, as well as Denver, the Midwest, and Florida.
