The Entrepreneur Center at The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), a bureau within the Existing Industry and Business Division, provides financial, marketing, management, and technical assistance to new and existing small businesses. The MDA acts as a catalyst in providing development assistance to prospective incubator sites, as well as ongoing technical assistance to existing facilities. Meetings are informal, and networking and exchanging of ideas are stressed at each meeting. The MDA is affiliated with the three incubators profiled under North Mississippi Enterprise Initiative (see profile); the Mississippi Enterprise for Technology (MsET) (see profile); the Golden Triangle Enterprise Center (see profile); and eleven additional incubators. The program provides for a maximum state business grant amount per project of $20,000 per job or up to $2,500,000.
