    Description:

    Organized in November 1976, VEDC has consistently provided services to small and medium sized business owners, entrepreneurs and members of the communities it serves. VEDC has grown to become the largest non-profit business development corporation in the metropolitan Los Angeles area. VEDC operates and facilitates several programs & projects such as: SBA Women's Business Center; Downtown Los Angeles Historic Retail Project; San Fernando Valley Financial Development Corporation; Plaza Del Valle Project; Pacoima Development Federal Credit Union; and the San Fernando Learning Center. The business lending division of the Valley Economic Development Center implements the Bank of America Small Business Administration Micro Loan Program in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. The Economic Development Administration's Revolving Loan Fund focuses on existing businesses located in the County of Los Angeles that have been declined credit by commercial banks and are looking for funds to help grow, save & create employment opportunities in the region. The loan amount ranges from $25,000 to $700,000 and is used for debt restructure, business acquisition, fixed asset financing and working capital. Since 1995, VEDC has originated small business loans totaling more than $35 million annually to businesses throughout California. VEDC is the largest Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in the Los Angeles area.
