    Description:

VT KnowledgeWorks is a technology business incubator that encourages and supports inventors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors as they conceive, design, launch, and grow companies to financial independence. The organization's incubator is a 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in Blacksburg. It features single office space for pre-launch operations, semi-custom office suites and lab space carefully programmed to accommodate modular growth of member companies as they expand, shared conference rooms of various sizes, and a secure server facility. The group's tenants typically fall into one of three categories: start-ups, spin-outs, and ramp-ups. Organizationally, the incubator is a division of the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, a for-profit subsidiary of the Virginia Tech Foundation. The annual Tech Transfer Challenge Prize provides $100,000 worth of mentorship and business support services to a winning team of Virginia Tech faculty, staff, students and/or alumni proposing to establish a new venture in Blacksburg, based on Virginia Tech owned technology.
