The team has 75 years of collective investing experience helping dozens of companies navigate to successful IPOs and acquisitions. Assets invested in the current portfolio of 26 companies are approximately $400 million. Investment focus is on technology companies in sectors such as: software, Internet, information services, and tech-enabled services. Target company characteristics include meaningful founder ownership of 20% or more; solid base revenue of minimum $5 million; growth rate of at least 25%; and capital efficient. Typical investments are between $5 and $20 million, with the proceeds going towards growth or acquisition capital and shareholder liquidity. Volition expects to invest in 10 to 12 companies out of the second fund, with a typical investment size of $5 million to $20 million. The firm raised $250 million for its third growth equity fund, closed July 2016. As with its previous funds, Volition Capital Fund III will target high growth tech companies.
