Westmount Asset Management, Inc. is an investment advisory firm that blends institutional money management strategies with a wide range of consulting and planning services. To assist both institutional and private clients in diversifying their portfolios, Westmount has developed expertise in private equity investing. Using a pooled fund-of-funds vehicle, Westmount Capital Partners, L.P., capital commitments have been made to four buyout funds and three venture capital funds. The buyout funds have invested primarily in middle-market U.S. corporations, with one concentrating in media and communication companies. The venture capital firms have specialized in early-stage or later-stage information technology companies, or in biotech and health sciences companies. In a joint venture with one of Southeast Asia's leading commercial banks, United Overseas Bank Group, Westmount participates in the management of the ASEAN-China Investment Fund (ACIF), a private equity fund providing growth capital to small and medium-sized enterprises in the 10-nation ASEAN countries and China. The fund commenced operations in January 2004 and has six institutional investors who have committed a total of $75 million to the fund. A follow-on fund, ACIF II, was launched with a first close in December, 2009. The firm currently manages approximately $4 billion in assets.
