Formed in 2000, Catalyst Investors is a private equity fund that provides equity capital to middle market companies with less than $150 million enterprise value in the media, communications, education, entertainment, business and consumer services, and related Internet services industries. The firm focuses on growth areas within the middle market, investing $10 to $20 million alongside management teams to fund expansion, acquisitions or recapitalizations. Catalyst makes long term investments with 3 to 7 year investment horizons. In certain cases Catalyst will form companies around talented managers in proven areas where the firm sees opportunity. Catalyst is based in New York and makes investments primarily in the U.S. and Canada.
