Goodworks Ventures is a Montana based social venture fund. The firm targets companies in Montana, but is willing to invest further afield in those companies that are paradigm changing and providing good social and financial return. Goodworks invests in early stage companies that show promise in their technology, scalability and management. Goodworks has invested in 35 companies so far (4 exits). The firm will consider loans, equity or hybrid instruments. Dawn McGee, the CEO of Good Works Ventures has more than 20 years experience in business, law, finance, and entrepreneurship, and has been a principal or analyst at Global Partners, Underdog Ventures, and the Unitus Equity Fund. She is also the President of the High Stakes Foundation. Goodworks is affiliated with Hellgate Venture Network, which facilitates social networking both online and offline amongst entrepreneurs and advisors engaged in building growth businesses in Western Montana. 36% of companies receive follow-on investment.
