Founded by two long-time friends and veteran entrepreneurs, Rob May and Todd Earwood, Half Court Ventures is a very active seed stage investment fund. The firm has invested in 55 startups. Half Court's portfolio companies vary by vertical, size, background, gender and location, but are categorically like this: 85% artificial intelligence or machine learning; 12% B2B SaaS; and 3% weird (Yes, some deals have special circumstances). Portfolio companies are located on both coasts, some in the Midwest and a few international. Most were pre-revenue, a handful of pre-product and a couple who needed capital to truly scale. Some have been through major accelerators like YCombinator, Launch, Tech Stars and 500 Startups.
