The Kansas Bioscience Authority was established by the state legislature in 2004 to help grow the bioscience sector into a pillar of the Kansas economy. The Kansas Bioscience Authority is looking to selectively partner with bioscience companies, inventors, entrepreneurs and investment professionals to substantially advance the state's vibrant bioscience industry. To be eligible, a company's primary business must be providing a bioscience process, product or service and the company owns, has filed for, or has a license to use protected, proprietary intellectual property, and the management or working founders must have at least $25,000 cash investment in the company. The Venture Accelerator is a 39,000-square-foot, Gold LEED-certified facility custom designed to serve emerging bioscience organizations looking to successfully take their discoveries to market. Situated in the KC Animal Health Corridor and in the 92-acre Kansas Bioscience Park in Olathe, the incubator has convenient access to interstate highways.
