Kemmons Wilson Companies is the family investment platform for the family of Kemmons Wilson, the founder of Holiday Inn. Kemmons Wilson, a resident of Memphis, Tennessee, was inspired to build a motel after being disappointed by the poor quality of roadside accommodations during a family road trip to Washington, D.C. Kemmons' three sons, Spence, Bob and Kem, continued his entrepreneurial spirit by expanding KWC into manufacturing, retailing and banking, amongst other industries. The firm's mission is to create long-term wealth by investing in a portfolio of highly select, non-publicly traded investment opportunities possessing the potential for significant appreciation at an appropriate level of risk. Kemmons Wilson seeks to provide capital for those companies either too small for institutional investors or too large for an individual investor, EBITDA between $2mm-$10mm, profitable and under $100mm in revenues.
