Founded in 2007 as Sachs Capital, Mauloa targets private investment opportunities that are too small or do not meet the investment criteria for, or are otherwise overlooked by, larger, institutional venture capital and private equity funds. It is a disciplined investor with a strong focus on valuation, business fundamentals, superior management and proper corporate governance. Mauloa is a patient and value-add investor that acquires equity positions in private operating companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. Mauloa has invested over $160 million into 19 companies over a decade and is currently investing out of a $65 million committed capital fund. The firm makes investments of $4 million to $15 million in a range of industries except biotech and real estate. The companies have between $10 million to $100 million in revenue.
