Founded in 1998, Meritage Funds is a Denver-based family of venture capital funds that manages three investment funds representing more than $1 billion of committed capital. The firm is currently investing Meritage Fund III and is actively seeking new investment opportunities. The firm invests in network-enabled service companies, specifically those that leverage networks to enable communication, deliver content, and facilitate commerce. Meritage pursues investment opportunities that require between $5 and $15 million of capital to accelerate growth of an existing core business that has a financial profile including: Annual revenue between $3 and $20 million, the majority of which is recurring in nature; and EBITDA positive or a clear path to EBITDA positive status. The firm's flexible investment mandate enables it to craft a financing approach that is appropriate for virtually any situation. Meritage makes both minority and control investments and will consider direct equity financings, recapitalizations, control acquisitions, consolidations, restructurings, spin-outs and management buy-outs. The firm's FastStart Program allows Meritage to capitalize on unique opportunities by investing up to $1 million at the earliest stages of a network-enabled service company's development.
