Founded in 2006, Mid-America Angels (MAA) is a regional network of angel investors dedicated to identifying and funding the most promising start-up business opportunities in the Kansas-Missouri Region. MAA has two primary objectives: To present high return on investment funding opportunities to its members; and to facilitate access to early-stage financing for high-potential businesses and entrepreneurs. MAA members fund deals in the investment range of $250,000 to $1,500,000, seeking to invest in early stage companies with potential for rapid, scalable growth, with proprietary technology, early market lead, or other strong barriers to entry, strong management team, credible exit strategy, reasonable valuation that fits within the risk/reward expectations of members, and is within a 150 mile radius of Kansas City. The Enterprise Center of Johnson County and the Lawrence Regional Technology Center provide professional administrative and management services for MAA. MAA typically invests in companies in the Kansas City region, and provides early-stage funding in the seed ($250,000 - $1.5M), Series A ($1M -$3M), and Series B ($3M -$5M) rounds.
