    Description:

Since its founding in 1983, Northwood Ventures has invested in approximately 160 companies. Northwood currently manages in excess of $100 million through two sister funds, Northwood Ventures, LLC and Northwood Capital Partners, LLC, for investment in venture capital opportunities, buyouts, and industry consolidations at all stages of company growth. Northwood invests across a wide range of industries with an historic concentration in the communications, retail/consumer, manufacturing, and financial services sectors. Northwood tends not to participate in the real estate, energy, software, or hardware sectors. Northwood invests in both control and minority positions, and participates in venture, buyout, consolidation, growth, recapitalization, and turnaround situations. Northwood's typical venture capital investments are in the $2 million to $12 million range, depending on the company's stage of development, funding needs, and risk profile. Northwood often participates in 'follow-on' private equity financings and may target a total investment of $8 million or more over the life of any portfolio company. The firm's typical management buyout investments are in the $2 million to $10 million range. Northwood sponsors transactions and also participates in buyouts structured by others and targets enterprise value for buyouts in the range of $15 million to $100 million. Northwood invests primarily in companies located within the United States, and to a limited extent, internationally.
