    Description:

Founded in 1992, PEI (Private Equity Investors) is a specialist in small private equity secondary purchases and a primary investor in venture capital, growth equity and buyout funds. PEI is headquartered in New York and has regional partners in Chicago, San Francisco and Tokyo. PEI is a leader in small secondary purchases, typically transactions less than $50 million in net asset value. Historically, PEI has completed 290 purchases of LP interests in over 130 different fund groups, many of which are among the leading venture capital and buyout funds in the U.S. PEI has completed transactions of less than $1 million to more than $100 million. The scope of PEI's business includes purchasing: limited partnership interests, portfolios of direct private holdings, and all of the assets of a fund or fund-of-funds. PEI has purchased the remaining assets of 18 funds, enabling the managers of those funds to wind them down. PEI's holdings, primarily U.S.-based, have included investments in more than 1,700 portfolio companies, covering a broad cross-section of the U.S. economy. PEI also manages primary funds-of-funds that invest in venture capital, growth equity and buyout funds at the time of their origination.
