    Description:

Permira is a leading, European-based private equity firm. Permira acts as adviser to the 19 Permira Funds, totaling approximately Euro 24 billion, that have been raised since 1985. These funds have invested in over 190 transactions in over 15 different countries, in companies across a variety of sectors and geographies, at all stages of the business lifecycle. The firm has returned close to EURO 14 billion to its investors over the past decade. By geography, some 55% of the capital committed to the most recent fund came from European institutions (41% from the UK), 35% from North American, 8% from the Far East and 2% from the Middle East. The Permira Funds target acquisition opportunities with transaction sizes of EURO 500 million or more, focusing in the following sectors: chemicals; consumer; industrial products & services; technology; and media & telecoms. Permira established an office in New York in 2002, reflecting the international stature of many of the companies in which the Permira Funds have invested (which have in excess of EURO 3.2 billion in sales and more than 6,000 employees in the United States). Overall, Permira operates 12 offices across Europe, the US, and Asia. The Permira Funds typically seek to take majority or significant minority stakes in transaction types including Financial Acquisitions, Leveraged buy-outs and buy-ins, Public-to-private transactions, Turnarounds, and Growth buy-outs.
