Tandem is an accelerator for mobile startups, providing funding and hands-on engagement for just 12 companies a year. Tandem offers a team of seasoned tech entrepreneurs and operators to work hand-in-hand with the founders of each startup to drive growth, assisting in strategy, product design, technology, architecture, user acquisition, team building, and channel development. Tandem initially invests $200,000 in each business through a convertible note. Participants in the program receive $200K in exchange for a convertible note and 10% common equity; 6 months of free office space in Tandem's MobileHome; and daily interaction with Tandem and its network for the 6-month term. The firm has the ability to invest considerable additional time and capital as needed. Tandem closed Tandem Fund II at $32 million.
